Surya to unveil new designs in Pantone's 2018 Color of the Year
Friday, December 15, 2017: In the upcoming winter markets, Surya will be showcasing a variety of rugs and accessories in Ultra Violet, the Pantone 2018 Color of the Year. Featured as a primary and accent color in many Surya products, the newly announced Color of the Year is deemed a “dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade” that “communicates originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking.”

According to Pantone, Ultra Violet symbolizes the current era’s innovation and future aspirations, alluding to the desire to achieve a higher level of consciousness and impact. Historically, purples have been associated with figures known for their creativity, uniqueness, influence, and excellence, all of which echo the ambitions of various individuals and companies, across all industries.

Lynne Meredith, vice president of product development at Surya, says, “Synonymous with luxury, creativity and imagination, Ultra Violet is the perfect choice for the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year. We are seeing all shades of purple and mauve emerge as a key color for textiles and decorative accents. It is a great inspirational shade for residential and commercial spaces looking to establish and maintain a sense of grandeur and originality.”

Ultra Violet brings nuance and intricacy to the home décor and design industry, allowing for astute individuality. The hue can create a bold impression through large-scale artwork and detailed, graphic rugs or serve as a subtle accent via simple combinations of small accessories. No matter the approach, it is accessible for virtually any style and space.

During the upcoming winter markets in Atlanta and Dallas, visitors to Surya’s showrooms will be able to experience a curated assortment of Ultra Violet accessories including rugs, pillows, poufs, art, and more.
